Sustainability: Frames are made using natural, non-petroleum-based cellulose acetate — biodegradable or recyclable depending on the material — as part of MACHETE's ongoing commitment to mindful, responsible making. Shipped and stored in eco-friendly EVA bags.

ABOUT MACHETE

MACHETE is an Atlanta-based accessories brand founded in 2015 by designer Jennifer "JJ" Matchett, who started with four earring designs and a belief that everyday accessories — made with care and intention — could become heirloom-quality keepsakes.

Drawing on a background in vintage buying and a lifelong collection of antique pieces, she built the brand around natural cellulose acetate: a renewable material derived from cotton and wood pulp that offers a responsible alternative to petroleum-based plastics. Every frame is handcrafted in Italy, and the brand prioritizes quality over quantity — introducing new pieces in limited runs and only producing more to meet demand.
