The Olympia is described on Machete's own site as "a frame that feels pulled from a French film" -- which is exactly right. Sculptural rounded edges, a quietly daring silhouette, and the kind of considered proportion that makes a pair of sunglasses look intentional rather than just present. Handcrafted from recyclable Italian cellulose acetate, the gold standard material for eyewear frames -- naturally plant-derived, biodegradable, and capable of the color depth and luminosity that plastic simply can't achieve.

Perle Noir translates from French as pearl black: a rich, deep black acetate with a subtle pearlescent shimmer woven through it. More dimensional than a flat black, more wearable than a bold pattern -- the kind of colorway that pairs with everything and still reads as a choice.

Fitted with UV 400 protective lenses; prescription frames also available.
