The Cosette is a subtly curved cat-eye -- not the exaggerated, winged version, but the restrained one: a gentle upward lift at the outer edge that sharpens the face without announcing itself. MACHETE describes it as a frame that "commands presence without trying," which is an honest read of what a well-proportioned cat-eye actually does.

Handcrafted from recyclable Italian cellulose acetate -- the plant-derived, biodegradable material that produces the depth of color and subtle luminosity that plastic can't replicate. Available in classic black and in dark tortoise, both of which read as versatile and intentional rather than trend-driven.

Fitted with UV 400 protective lenses for the highest level of sun protection.

STYLED BY LADDER

MACHETE was founded in Atlanta in 2015 by Jennifer Jaime, who started the brand with four original earring designs and a background in vintage buying -- and a conviction that everyday accessories, made with genuine care and intention, could become heirloom-quality pieces rather than disposable ones.

JJ's pattern designs draw from the natural world: the emerald-hued lakes of northern Italy, the rippled valleys of southern Utah. Nature is both the inspiration and the standard, which is why every material decision at MACHETE is made with sustainability at its center -- transitioning fully to bio and plant-based acetates, recycled metals, and responsible production practices.

From those first four earrings, MACHETE has grown into a full line of handcrafted accessories carried by hundreds of independent retailers around the world, while the Atlanta-based team continues bringing the same level of craft and intention to everything they make.
