Large Geometric Scarf

Jo Gordon calls this the most special scarf in the collection, and it shows. Knit from the softest lambswool in a smooth jacquard, it has a bold geometric pattern on one side and soft contrasting stripes on the other, so it can be draped over the shoulders, wrapped close on a cold winter day, or laid across the sofa for a hit of color and pattern at home.

MATERIALS

Fabric: 100% Scottish spun lambswool

Made: Knit in Leicestershire, England, by a master craftsman with more than 50 years in the knitwear industry. He works exclusively for Jo Gordon and is the only knitter in the UK able to produce patterns this complex, using this many colors in a single scarf.

Sustainability: Lambswool certified by the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS), which protects animal welfare and the land sheep graze on, and dyed with 100% GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) organic dyes.

CARE

Dry clean recommended. To hand wash, use cold water and a specialist wool detergent; do not machine wash. Press out excess water, then press gently between a folded towel; do not wring. Lay flat to dry away from direct heat. Not recommended for use by children.

STYLED BY LADDER

Throw it over a camel wool coat or a simple black crewneck and let the pattern do the talking, with dark denim and leather boots to keep the rest of the look quiet.

Jo Gordon's love of knitwear began at sixteen, when she had a much-darned hat of her dad's faithfully remade to keep out the Scottish cold, and that appreciation for honest, beautifully made things still drives her work today. Her colorful knitwear is made mostly in Scotland and entirely within the UK, with yarn spinning and knitting done at small local mills that share her passion for keeping traditional skills alive, often reviving archived patterns or reinterpreting old techniques in new ways.
